How Great Is Our God (Chris Tomlin)

เพลงนี้สมควรอย่างยิ่งที่จะได้ Song of The Day ในใจผม เพราะนอกจากเนื้อหาของเพลงจะดีมาก ๆ แล้ว เพลงนี้ยังได้รับรางวัล Worship Song of the Year และ Song of the Year ในงาน GMA MUSIC AWARDS ที่เพิ่งประกาศรางวัลไปเมื่อวันที่ 6 เม.ย. 2006 ที่ผ่านมานี่เอง สำหรับ Chris Tomlin แล้ว ยังได้รับรางวัลอีก 3 รางวัลคือ Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year และ Special Event Album of the Year (Music Inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe) ทำให้ Chris Tomlin กวาดไปถึง 5 รางวัล มากที่สุดในงานนี้เลย ถ้าอยากรู้จัก Chris Tomlin มากขึ้น สามารถเข้าไปที่ www.christomlin.com ครับ

สำหรับคนที่สงสัยว่า GMA MUSIC AWARDS คือรางวัลอะไร GMA นั่นย่อมาจาก Gospel Music Association ของอเมริกา ซึ่งเปรียบเสมือนรางวัล Grammy Awards สำหรับเพลงคริสเตียนก็ว่าได้ เพราะว่าตลาดเพลงคริสเตียนในอเมริกา ถือว่ามีตลาดที่ใหญ่มาก ถ้าเทียบกับประเทศอื่น ๆ

คราวนี้เรามาดูเนื้อเพลงกัน สำหรับเวอร์ชันที่ Capture มาใส่ podcast นี้ ผมได้มาจากซีดีอัลบัม Passion05 - How Great is Our God ซึ่งอัลบัมนี้เป็น live Worship ที่วางขายตั้งแต่เดือนเมษายนปีที่แล้ว สำหรับ How Great is Our God ในอัลบัมถือว่าเป็นเพลงที่เด่นที่สุด ในหลาย ๆ เพลงของอัลบัมนี้ (อย่างน้อยก็ใช้เป็นชื่ออัลบัม 555) แต่จริง ๆ แล้วถ้าลองฟังทั้งชุดจะรู้ว่าเพลงนี้ถือเป็นจุดที่ Peak ของการนมัสการเลย เอาล่ะเนื้อเพลงอยู่ข้างล่างนี้

ถ้าสังเกตและฟังเพลงไปด้วย ในท่อนสุดท้ายจะจบด้วยเพลง How great Thou art ซึ่งทำให้บรรยากาศการนมัสการ Peak จนสัมผัสถึงความยิ่งใหญ่ของพระเจ้าในเพลง ๆ นี้จริง ๆ ซึ่งถ้าจะวิเคราะห์กันที่เนื้อเพลง เนื้อหาก็ไม่ได้ใหม่มาก แต่ดนตรีและการเรียบเรียง รวมถึงเนื้อร้องของเพลง เวลานำมาใช้ในการนมัสการ ทำให้เราสามารถร้องได้อย่างเต็มปอด รวมถึงสุดใจด้วย สำหรับเพลงนี้นอกจากในอัลบัม Passion05 แล้วยังสามารถฟังในแบบ Studio Album ของ Chris Tomlin ได้ในอัลบัม Arriving (04) หรือจากอัลบัมการแสดงสดอัลบัมแรกของ Chris Tomlin ชุด Live from Austin Music Hall (06) ครับ
